Our parks and recreation facilities vary greatly, ranging from a golf course, to large parks with playgrounds and fields, to small quiet retreats and lake shores.
Recreation Facilities
In addition to all of the parks below, West Winter Park has several public recreation amenities.
- Winter Park Community Center
Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, two regulation basketball courts, media center and banquet space that can accommodate events both large and small. In addition, the Community Center has an outdoor amphitheater overlooking Shady Park and a multipurpose pool with zero-depth entry and lap lanes. The Community Center also offers a wide range of programs for all ages. - Winter Park Library
The Winter Park Library and Events Center’s new facility opened in December 2021. It was designed by acclaimed architect Sir David Adjaye, and is located on the corner of Morse Boulevard and Harper Street. The new facility features more spaces and improved places, with a design that is both magnetic and vibrant—a true 21st century library for Winter Park. Over a century ago, several women with ideas and tenacity began this library, a library that continues today with much the same spirit. - Martin Luther King, Jr. Park
Martin Luther King, Jr. Park offers a variety of facilities centered by a tranquil lake that features both a fountain and a community-built bridge. This serene setting encompasses 23-acres of beautiful scenery, sports and recreation facilities, and an extra-large playground. - Shady Park
Shady Park, a 3.28-acre centrally located in historical Hannibal Square next to the Community Center, features park benches and a tranquil sidewalk pathway. It is perfect for reading a book or hosting a special community event.
